We are very happy to announce that on Thursday the 18th we will be having a wee perty to launch our newest exhibition, a fine collection of Emily Hogarth’s work.

Emily studied her BA in Textiles at Edinburgh Art College and since graduating has worked with Jasper Conran at Debenhams, Medici Cards, Tigerprint, and Studio Roam.

She specialises in paper cuts with the ethos of ‘making every day magical’. Her work is bold yet delicate and wonderfully charming.

Happy Chinese New Year!

So here he is, our very own chinese  new year dragon! We’ve named him Craft Dragon due to the enjoyable but ardous hours of craft endured to create his beautiful form. And gosh he is splendid! Hi There Peoples

Please allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nikki Kent and I am the newest recruit to the Goodstead empire. I’m planning on keeping the blog up to date with anything thats getting us excited and inspired at the moment in whatever shape or form that may take.

Firsty…this is me (above). I’m the lady. The hairy guy is our beloved Seth. As you can see here we are getting deep into a heavy craft session the result of which was our glorious Craft Dragon!! The eccentric and flamboyant cousin of Falcor (Neverending Story Flying Dog aka Victoria Beckham) is taking pride of place in our window at the moment.

Christmas is closing in fast but there is still plenty of time to order online from Goodstead.

Provided your order is placed before 12 noon on Monday  21st December we’ll be sure to get the goods to you in time for Christmas, provided the delivery address is in the UK. If you are overseas be sure to order before the 17th December or we cannot guarantee you will recieve your order in time.

If you are not sure what to buy and are stressing about getting the wrong present, don’t worry! We will be happy to offer you an exchange or credit up until the 10th January for anything bought in December. Problem solved!

Last thing to mention is the Après-Christmas Sale…

The second we close the doors on the 24th of December we hit the magic button and the online sale starts right away. With some huge discounts and great bargains to be had you might find yourself glued to the computer for quite some time to come… For those of you that sign up for our newsletter however, there may be a pre-sale sale that starts a couple of days earlier giving you a head start on grabbing those desirable items at great prices!

The instore sale starts at 10am on Boxing Day, Saturday 26th so see you there!

The latest gallery exhibition at Goodstead features two award winning local photographers, Daniel Rutter and Craig Buchan.

The Smoke and Mirrors exhibition features a vast collection of street photography and will be on display from the 12th December until 29th January. All artwork will be framed ready for sale.

We will, of course, be hosting a launch party for the event on Saturday 12th December in store from 18:30 onwards and all are welcome. The free booze runs out quickly so it’s a good idea to get down to Goodstead as early as possible.

So if you live in Edinburgh and you weren’t at our Winter Launch party, you missed out! We had the good folks at Red Bull sort us out with a free bar and the afterparty was at one Edinburgh’s best Boozers- 99 Hanover Street. There is no doubt that there will have been some sore heads at work on Friday!
