Margaret Howell began her career as a fine artist, receiving her degree from Goldsmiths college in 1969. Shortly afterwards she opened her own workroom to create authentic and traditionally made clothing that was true to its heritage in both design and construction. Whether made from Irish Linen or Harris Tweed, the clothing is a statement of detailed craftsmanship that reflects the personality of the makers of these traditional fabrics.
