Yuketen

Founded in 1985 by Japanese designer Yuki Matsuda, Yuketen with its signature pieces - the Moccasin Hunting Boot and Deck Shoe, pays homage to classic American footwear design, material and craftsmanship. Matsuda travels to remote locales across the States to draw on the experience and knowledge of traditional artisans, researching and learning techniques steeped in heritage, including traditional moccasin construction in which the foot is wrapped by the shoe. Each Yuketen shoe is constructed by hand using quality, durable and precious materials - vegetable tanned leather, American naked leather and 100% natural Brazilian rubber. Designs come in both classic and seasonal colour ways. Yuketen footwear present a modern translation of traditional design, taking the wearer in comfort and style from the Appalachian Plains to the city streets.
